Maruti, Corporate Voice shine at PR Awards

India PR & Corporate Communications Awards 2012 were given away in Delhi on March 22 in presence of the best of PR and corporate communications professionals in India.

The winners have been selected in keeping with the stringent and high standards set by the distinguished jury panel, led by Jury Chairperson Dr Pragnya Ram, Group Executive President Corporate Communications and CSR, Aditya Birla Group.

Corporate Voice I Weber Shandwick picked up awards for Hero MotoCorp’s ‘Hum Mein Hai Hero’, Gillette Shave India Movement and Honda Brio launch campaigns. Atul Ahluwalia, President, Corporate Voice I Weber Shandwick, has been adjudged PR Professional of the Year – Agency.

Maruti Suzuki India also picked up a few awards. The way the auto major handled the strike in the Manesar plant got Maruti the Best Use of Public Relations in Crisis- Corporate Award. Maruti also won the Best use of Corporate Communications within an Organisation Award for Divisional Communication Meeting.

Industry veteran Prema Sagar, Principal and Founder, Genesis Burson-Marsteller, has been conferred the Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement Award.

Corporate Communications Professional of the Year Award went to Meenu Handa, Director, Corporate Communications, Microsoft India.

20:20 MSL won the award for Best Use of Public Relations by Public Sector Entity – Agency for INDIPEX 2011, the World Philatelic Exhibition for Government of India, Ministry of Communications and IT, Department of Posts.

Best Use of Public Relations for a Social Cause – Agency Award went to Perfect Relations for the Coca-Cola launch of Support My School Campaign. Motilal Oswal Financial Services won the Award for Best Use of PR in the Financial Services Sector – Corporate, while Hanmer MSL bagged the Award for Best Use of PR in the Financial Services Sector – Agency for client Aditya Birla Financial Services Group – Birla Sun Life Insurance.

Best use of PR in the entertainment, sports and lifestyle sector – Corporate / Entity Award went to TLC India for the ‘Oh My Gold’ launch with Lisa Ray. PR Pundit won the Award for Best use of PR in the entertainment, sports and lifestyle sector – Agency for Swarovski Elements.

Out-of-the-Box PR Idea Award went to Aviva Life Insurance Co India for the Aviva Great Wall of Education campaign.
