Kwan acquires majority stake in PR agency Eye D

Entertainment and marketing company Kwan has acquired controlling interest in Eye D Communications, an entertainment and lifestyle PR agency. The decision to acquire Eye D Communications, which was set up in 2009, was based on it being one of the fastest growing agencies in the entertainment space. Eye D and Kwan already share a number of clients on the PR and commercial front and this acquisition has been a natural progression of a successful working relationship.

Speaking about the association, Anirban Das Blah, MD, Kwan, said, “We were looking at investing in a PR agency to provide complete communications solutions to our clients. My only worry was the glaring difficulty that communication companies face when it comes to building and communicating their clients as brands. It is my belief that Eye D Communications is the one agency that operates from a ‘strategic communication’ perspective and not just from a media relations point of view. We plan on helping Eye D accelerate their growth by virtue of our relationships and broaden their offering within the entertainment, fashion, luxury and lifestyle space. Eye D will continue to operate under the same brand name in the industry so as to maintain its individuality even beyond the realm of Kwan.”

Elaborating on the association, Divya Tejuja, Head of Eye D Communications, said, “Having worked very closely with Kwan on the numerous clients that we share, we have been able to rapidly scale up operations in sectors such as films, fashion, lifestyle and luxury brands. Kwan’s pan-India penetration and network of celebrity clients is phenomenal and we are looking forward to working in tandem with them to enhance the scope and reach of our services. The association will give us access to a much larger talent pool and put us on the fast track to effective brand building and image management in the entertainment, luxury and lifestyle space.”

Kwan operates across various entertainment driven verticals and markets from celebrity endorsements and management, film casting and marketing and events to celebrity brand building strategy, managing music led platforms and artists, fashion events and talent management and sports.
