Candid Communication bag PR accounts of Kolkata West Intl City and Mahabharat Motors

Candid Communication has bagged the public relations account of Kolkata West International City and Mahabharat Motors Pvt Ltd, the biggest ever foreign investment made in West Bengal by Indonesia-based Salim Group in association with Ciputra and Universal.

Salim Group is one of the largest business conglomerates in the South East Asian region with its line of business in real estate, food industry, agriculture, television broadcasting, and telecommunication among others.

The Government of West Bengal has agreed to allocate land measuring over 390 acres in West Howrah for this project through Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDC) .The Group is also investing $350 million for developing The Kolkata West International City.

Mahabharat Motors, the motorcycle manufacturing unit of Salim Group, will aim to manufacture 50,000 units per annum. West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya lay the foundation stones for both these projects on February 15, 2006.

Candid Communication is a professionally managed PR agency based in Kolkata. Elaborating on the account win, Debjani Mukherjee Sarkar, Marketing Manager, Kolkata West International City Pvt Ltd, said, “This is going to be the largest FDI in West Bengal till date. So, we were looking for a PR agency who could guide us to get a maximum mileage. Candid Communication has already worked with one of our partners, Universal Success in the past. So, we have unanimously decided to go ahead with Candid.”
