Unish Kuri goes glam hunting to bond with the youth

In a bid to connect with its target audience, Unish Kuri, a fortnightly Bengali magazine from the ABP Group targeted at college goers, recently held the grand finale of the Unish Kuri Streax Glam Hunt in Kolkata.

From 2,000 entries, 10 finalists were chosen and from these emerged the Glam King and Glam Queen of the year. The finalists had to go through three weeks of rigorous grooming, and there were several sub-category winners as well.

The judges for the event included ace photographer Subi Samuel; Madhumita Chattopadhyay, Editor, Sananda; actors Indraneil Sengupta and Debasree Roy; danseuse Dona Ganguly; and football player Baichung Bhutia.

Started in 2003, Unish Kuri covers a wide range of contemporary topics relevant to today’s youth. The Glam Hunt is a part of the several ground level activities that the magazine does to strenghen its bond with today’s youth.

It also participates in college activities like freshers’ welcome, sponsorship of college fests, etc.

There is also the Unish Kuri Club, which enables its members to participate in various workshops of interest to this age group like grooming, etiquette, etc., to enable the youngsters to become more confident, both socially and intellectually.
