The Hindu MetroPlus’ event property – Lifestyle Show – is all set for its third edition from June 1-5, 2006. Organisers say that the event will be bigger this year than in previous editions, buoyed by advertiser and consumer response; and guided by feedback.
This year, the MetroPlus Lifestyle Show is being planned in six venues. Besides which, the MetroPlus Theatre festival will enter its second year in Chennai.
Addressing the media with the sponsors of the event, L V Navneeth, GM – Advertisement-Marketing, The Hindu, said, “For us, the events space is a device to interact with readers and advertisers, and help advertisers interact with readers. Metro Plus is in an important brand in terms of connecting with younger audiences. Two of the events are under the MetroPlus banner, the MetroPlus Lifestyle Show and the Theatre Festival, which debuted last year.”
Samsung is the presenting sponsor for the event in Chennai, while Classic Polo, Gitanjali Group, Kesar Gift Mart and RmKV are the associate sponsors. SS Music has been roped in as channel partner, and the entertainment and performances from music bands in the evenings at the event will add to the channel’s programming.
Samsung has been part of the event for the last two years too. V L Narayanan, GM – South, Samsung, said, “The event has translated into very good numbers in terms of sales in the last two years. We are looking forward to the event. At Samsung this year, we’ve seen the launch of several products including a new range of ACs and refrigerators and next month, we will unveil a new range of LCDs.”
The company will look to showcase its new range at the show, as will first time participant Gitanjali Group. Classic Polo and RmKV will showcase their fabric offerings, while Kesar Gift Mart would be launched with the show. The event will be spread out across 140,000 square feet, with around 250 participants, at the Chennai Trade Centre.
