Switcher, one of the leading Swiss leisurewear brands, plans to set up its own Switcher stores and shop-in-shops in the country soon. At the moment, Switcher products are available only in Shopper’s Stop outlets.
Switcher flagship stores will be set up after an initial test-marketing phase in New Delhi and Mumbai. According to industry sources, the company is targeting 10 such stores in major cities by 2002-end.
Switcher’s strategy emphasises on corporate clients such as BPL, Citibank, Hindustan Lever Ltd, Cathay Pacific, and retail business, side by side. Priced between Rs 145 and Rs 795, Switcher aims at catering to the basic casual apparel requirement of individuals.
Globally, the company targets a $70 million turnover this year, up from $60 million for the year ending this March. Launched in India in 1999, it was marketed through an exclusive tie-up with Shopper’s Stop.
