'Swabhiman Times' launches in Delhi-NCR market

Hindi newspaper market in Delhi-NCR is heating up with the back to back fresh launches. Now Big Broadcasting & Multimedia Corporation Ltd, a 360 degree media company, has launched a Hindi daily newspaper Swabhiman Times. Initially, the newspaper will target East Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad markets. The newspaper, which is in predominantly coloured format with 12+4 pages, is priced at Rs 2. The Editor-in-Chief and COO of the newspaper is Ajay Kumar.

Group has already established 16 centers in entire Delhi for the circulation of the newspaper and focusing on building up a robust readership base in the capital. Soon, newspaper will be launched in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan markets also. Speaking on the content strategy of the newspaper Kumar said, “We will be covering all the relevant issues in our newspaper targeting common people of India. We are coming up with all-innovative design, colour and content that will attract more readers. It is first time in Hindi newspaper domain that we have introduced a new in-design software for the better layout of the newspaper.”

Banwarilal Kushwaha, Chairman, Swabhiman Times, commented, “We are reading the market before expanding further. We will be fighting direct with some of the big newspapers in the Delhi market.”

Presently, group has refused to reveal the exact number of the initial print-run of the newspaper. Initially, newspaper is relying on subscription revenue. However soon with the ABC and RNI circulation numbers, newspaper will target all local, national and government advertisements.

Meanwhile, the group is soon going to launch a Hindi TV News channel and a monthly infotainment magazine called ‘Power Plug’. Newspaper will foray into the digital domain also with its e-paper soon. Big Broadcasting & Multimedia Corporation Ltd is active in 360 degree media business and brings out a Hindi daily newspaper and an English news magazine. Apart from this, it runs public relations, events management, promotion, direct marketing, outdoor advertising and digital media businesses too.
