Sandeep Amar joins Indian Express Digital as CEO

Senior media veteran Sandeep Amar who was the CEO of India.Com has joined Indian Express Digital as CEO. The news was confirmed by Anant Goenka, wholetime Director and Head - New Media, Indian Express.

It can be recalled that Amar stepped down from his position of CEO, India.com last week. He was the COO for India.com for two years and was elevated to CEO in February this year.

He has spent more than 20 years in the industry and has a rich experience working for corporate companies as well as start-ups. Apart from playing leadership roles in top internet firms, Amar has been an entrepreneur, speaker and leading blogger in the Indian digital ecosystem.

Prior to India.com, he has been with Times Internet as the Head of Marketing. He had joined the Times Group’s internet division as the Marketing head of Times Business Solutions, besides leading the marketing divisions of Simplymarry.com and Ads2book.com. In 2009, Amar was made head of marketing and audience at Indiatimes. His work experience also includes stints with Zee Telefilms, Citigroup, and Hindustan Times.

He has also been involved in mobile, internet and enterprise-wide applications, where he has managed P&L, business strategy, business development, sales and marketing, product management, online marketing and operations.
