Samir Ahluwalia given new role at Zee Media

It has been a season of changes at Zee News. Last week we had reported about Ashish Pandit replacing Samir Ahluwalia as CEO, Zee News. It is learnt that Ahluwalia has been appointed CEO, Content and Vice President, Business.

The announcement was made in an internal communication that said: “In keeping with Zee Media’s growth strategy and future plans, Samir Ahluwalia, Editor Zee Business and acting CEO, will now be CEO – Content and also the VP business.  With this, Samir’s deep expertise in content and editorial understanding will be used across the corporation to give us greater competitive edge in the news landscape. His KRAs will be amended accordingly. All other profit centre responsibilities will be handled by the incoming CEO, who is likely to join soon.

This focus will increase our stickiness with the viewer-customer and in turn, increase traction with our advertiser-customer.

Samir’s contribution to content will be format neutral and he is expected to contribute to the television channels and also print and digital. Samir will report to the Group CEO.

We wish Samir all the best as he moves to take up this vital responsibility and request everyone to extend full cooperation to him.”
