Rubecon acquires new business; Color Plus to continue with them

With Raymond entering into a MoU to acquire 75.1% equity stake in Chennai based Color Plus Fashions LTD, Rubecon has little to fear. With RKSwamy/BBDO looking after the advertising for Raymond, there was speculation over whether it would take on Color Plus as a client as well. However, according to Rubecon officials, they have been given verbal assurance on their continuing relationship with Color Plus.

Well known as specialists in design, Rubecon started its long association with Color Plus by doing tags for them. It also broke traditional norms by using the print medium only for the Color Plus ad campaigns. Also, moving away from lifestyle kind of advertisements, they refrained from using models to accentuate the product strengths, thereby giving Color Plus its own brand identity. It has also created most of their merchandise.

Now, this Chennai based creative shop has also acquired new clients like GTN Group, a yarn exporter and Witco. According to a Rubecon official, they will also be working with the Taj Group locally. They have worked on their newsletter called the "Taj Newsletter". This account is said to be important for Rubecon because of sentimental reasons. Alexander Zachariah, the Managing Director started with Taj as a client, for which Rubecon designed their posters.

Otherwise their other major client Vijay TV has also renewed their contract with Rubecon.

The focus at Rubecon will be on Print and Packaging. According to the Rubecon official, Despite being best as design, they don't intend to ignore traditional advertising vehicles like television. She revealed that at Rubecon a client got to use a single source that handled everything from packaging to the mass media.
