Revamped Amar Ujala plans aggressive campaign in UP, Uttaranchal

Hindi daily Amar Ujala is chalked out an aggressive line-up of promotional activities across Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. “The objective behind the promotion is to consolidate our leadership position in the cities in which we are doing well. We are also looking at increasing the number of readers across UP and Uttaranchal,” said Atul Maheshwari, Managing Director, Amar Ujala.

The publication is planning to introduce promotional offers in all cities and scratch-and-win offers in some selected cities. “In Dehradun and Meerut we are planning to introduce scratch-and-win offers, while in the other cities we will offer promotional schemes,” he said.

Interestingly, Amar Ujala recently revamped the editorial content. Nearly three months back, the group started Rupayan, women’s weekly supplement, a bilingual supplement called Career-Turning Point, and a fortnightly supplement for teenagers called Teenworld. It also revamped its existing film supplement, Rangayan.

“After revamping the design, content and consolidating the product, we felt that it was time to increase the promotional activities, which is the reason why we have pumped up our promotional activities in UP and Uttaranchal,” Maheshwari said.
