Prabhat Khabar to launch ‘Panchayatnama’ in Bihar

After launching tabloid ‘Panchayatnama’ in Jharkhand, Prabhat Khabar is now planning to extend its reach to Bihar. The fortnightly publication targeting the rural population will be launched in Bihar in June.

The content of the tabloid will be Panchayat-oriented news, information and issues such as empowerment of Panchayat people, monitoring and analysis of their development work, information on government schemes, incorporation of better Panchayat members, etc.

Speaking to exchange4media, Sanjay Mishra, Editor, Panchayatnama said, “We are hoping to receive booking for 25,000 copies. We target rural readers such as farmers, Panchayat members, Gram Sabha, government departments in the rural area and Zila Parishad.

Currently around 15,000 copies get published in Jharkhand. The cover price of the tabloid is Rs 12.

The cover price of the tabloid in Bihar will be Rs 10 and annual subscription will be Rs 200. It will have 40 coloured pages.

“We are using all types of medium such as radio, television and social networks to promote the tabloid. We are also incorporating different ideas e.g. we will be undertaking an awareness campaign by taking out bicycle rallies in villages. This has not been done by anyone else,” said Mishra.

The ads in the publication will be related to agriculture equipments, fertilizers, electricity, etc.
