Prabhat Khabar now eyes readers in rural areas

Prabhat Khabar has launched ‘Panchayatnama’, a fortnightly tabloid targeted at the rural population.

Speaking on the need for such a publication, Sanjay Mishra, Editor, Panchayatnama, said, “After 32 years Jharkhand witnessed Panchayat elections and we discovered more than 50,000 political workers were not aware about their work .This led us to launch this tabloid for the rural population.”

The tabloid will cover and feature Panchayat-oriented news, information and issues such as empowerment to the Panchayat, monitoring and analysis of their development work, information and review of Government schemes for the Panchayat, incorporation of better people into the Panchayat system, such as the mukhiya and other members.

 “Media can play a very important role in creating awareness amongst the masses, with Panchayatnama, we are doing our bit,” Mishra added.

The new tabloid is being promoted via the main paper Prabhat Khabar.
