Seven months after India Today increased its price from Rs 15 to Rs 20, the Outlook group has hiked the price of its flagship magazine, Outlook, to Rs 20 from the current April 17 issue. The magazine also dons a new look with a change in design after some five years, only twice in its 11-year history.
Recently in an interview, Maheshwer Peri, Publisher, Outlook Group, had said that the price increase was inevitable and it was just a matter of time.
Speaking about the new design, Peri said, “This is to keep pace with the changing times, to give Outlook a fresher look.”
With the increase price, a new magazine, ‘Life & Style,’ is being given free with Outlook once a month. When asked whether more such magazines will be offered with Outlook, Peri did not rule out the possibility.
The magazine has recently increased its ad rates. The Group is also launching a business magazine, Outlook Business, on April 20.
India Today had increased its price from the September 16 issue owing to increase in input and production cost.
