It’s end of the road for two magazines from Ogaan Publications’ stable – quarterly magazine aimed at brides-to-be ‘Brides Now’ and premium luxury lifestyle magazine ‘Beautiful People’. Archana Pillai. Group Publisher, Ogaan Publications, confirmed the news to exchange4media, but refused to divulge the reasons for the closures.
Ogaan Publications was set up in 1996 by Kavita Bhartia, which launched fashion magazine ‘Elle’ in India. ‘Elle’ is a title owned by Hachette Filipacchi Medias (HFM). Ogaan had also brought to India ‘Elle Décor’.
Priced at Rs 100, ‘Brides Now’ was a contemporary guide to a dream wedding. The magazine addressed the bride-to-be and her personal shopping needs. It was targeted at someone who would want the wedding to be well-planned with a good mix of tradition with modernity.
‘Beautiful People’, a bi-monthly and also priced at Rs 100, was a blend of fashion, beauty with seduction and imagination. Luxurious living was reinforced in the magazine. The magazine profiled men and women of the moment, in India and internationally. The homes, lifestyles and habits of India’s most influential people from different walks of life were profiled.
