The seventh Indian Magazine Congress (IMC), the annual conference of the Association of Indian Magazines (AIM), gets underway in Mumbai on February 14, 2013. Nitin Paranjpe, CEO and MD, Hindustan Unilever, will deliver the opening keynote address at the conference.
The theme for IMC 2103 is ‘New Directions, New Opportunities’ and the conference will explore how magazine publishers can generate revenues from new streams by building sustainable and scalable models. ‘The new business model’ will be the topic taken up by another keynote speaker, Peter Kreisky, Founder and Chairman of the Kreisky Media Consultancy.
Various other panel discussions will focus on the contentious issue of ‘Church vs. State - Has the wall between editorial and business been breached?’ and also examine case studies from publishers on how magazine brands converted themselves to become multi-platform brands, leveraging their brand strength to gain revenues from multiple streams.
