Navbharat Times celebrated its 58th Anniversary this weekend with a special issue on Sunday, June 29, for which Milind Deora, MP from south Mumbai, stepped in as guest editor. The theme for the anniversary celebrations this year is the ‘Udaan of Hindi Bhashis’ in Mumbai.
Earlier on June 27, Navbharat Times held a celebration evening where they felicitated few chosen Hindi leaders in business and industry, including Sukhraj Nahar, CMD of Nahar Builders; Suresh Bharwani, Chairman and MD of Jetking; Ramesh Shoor, Chief of Agni Jewels; Anirudh Dhoot, CEO of Dhoot Entertainment; and Narendra Kumar Baldota, Chairman of Greater Bombay Bank. Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh was the chief guest at the celebration.
Speaking on the occasion, Ranjeet Kate, Deputy Director, Times Group, said, “Navbharat Times, which was launched on June 29, 1950, has witnessed every progressive growth of this country. And as it turns 58, we are very happy to felicitate a few Hindi leaders in business and industry, who have contributed to this country a lot.
He further said, “The future of this country lies in the hands of the youths, that’s the reason why we thought of having a youthful guest editor. We are privileged and thrilled to have Milind Deora as our guest editor for our Sunday issue.”
Very soon Navbharat Times would be seen in all colours, confirmed Shachindra Tripathi, Editor of the Hindy daily. He added, “We are putting in continuous efforts and endeavour to improve the content quality wise and quantity wise to cater to our readers. We are also in the process of giving the paper a new look content wise and design wise.”
On the guest editor, Tripathi said, “We are very pleased to have the young and dynamic Milind Deora as guest editor for the Sunday issue for a greater connect with the youth, as 50-60 per cent of the country’s population is between the ages of 18 years and 35 years.”
