Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh print player Nai Dunia Media is all set to increase its national footprint with a national edition. The group is also launching a national weekly newspaper and magazine ‘Sunday NaiDunia’ from nine state capitals – Lucknow, Dehradun, Patna, Ranchi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Bhopal, Raipur and Mumbai – simultaneously from October 1. The national edition of NaiDunia will also hit newsstands from October 1.
The Group is launching an aggressive 360-degree initiative with involving TV, radio, outdoor and events to support the launches. Indore-based ad agency Lemon and Chili is handling the NaiDunia account.
Speaking on the launch, Vinay Chhajlani, CEO, NaiDunia Media, said, “After having tasted the waters of various cities, we are ready to roll out our editions in nine state capitals at the same time. While youth-centric content is the order of the day, we have uniquely positioned ‘Sunday Nai Dunia’ to cater to all age groups. Our driving force now is to taste waters of the National Capital, which is home to the opinion leaders of the country.”
Chhajlani further said, “Unlike a daily newspaper, the weekly will be more of a feature-based newspaper. We do not see any direct competition. In fact, the weekly will be a value addition to the parent brand. If at all any competition emerges, it will certainly prove beneficial.”
He, however, refused to divulge details of the price of the newspapers, only stating that ‘Sunday NaiDunia’ would be priced at a premium.
As far as content is concerned, the paper will have 22-24 colour pages. The paper will focus on a generalist impact.
Alok Mehta has been appointed as Chief Editor of the Group. However, resident editors would be appointed for the different editions.
