Hindi daily, Nai Dunia, is out to complete its presence in Chhattisgarh with the launch of its Bilaspur edition. The paper is slated for launch on February 7, 2007.
Vineet Sethia, Director, Nai Dunia, said, “We want to complete our footprint in Chhattisgarh state. It will be incomplete without the Bilaspur edition. Going by the overwhelming response that we got for our Raipur edition and the rate at which we are growing, I am very confident that we will do wonders for our Bilaspur edition as well.”
Nai Dunia will be catering to around five districts with its Bilaspur edition. The coverage will happen within two months of the launch.
Sethia, however, refused to divulge the price of the paper. As far as the content is concerned, the paper will be carrying around 20 pages, out of which four pages would be devoted to Bilaspur city, while the rest will have a mix of national news, state level news, etc.
At present, Bilaspur has two papers – Dainik Bhaskar and Nava Bharat. Infact, Sethia sounded quite upbeat about the market. When asked on the strategies that the paper would adopt to counter the competition, Sethia said, “We are very strong in our content and quality. Credibility wise no one can beat Nai Dunia, that is our asset.”
As far as the circulation is concerned, the paper aims to sell around 25,000 copies from day one and hopes to attain the leadership position very soon.
The marketing activity around the new offering has already begun. On ground activities constitute four floats built on trucks communicating to people about the new product. Besides, advertisements on local cable channels are already on and around 50-60 hoardings have been put up as well.
The next agenda for Nai Dunia will be a Jabalpur edition, which will be launched within the next six months. The paper will also be foraying into other states as part of its expansion plan. Plans are afoot to relaunch a Bhopal edition later this year.
