N Ram, Chairman, Kasturi & Sons Ltd spoke to exchange4media exclusively about the recent exit of Malini Parthasarathy and search for the next editor.

Commenting on who will be the new editor replacing Parthasarathy, N Ram said, “There is a due process and our nomination and remuneration committee is looking into the matter. It comprises of two independent directors’ including me. Whatever recommendation this committee makes will be put up to the board and has to get the boards clearance.”

Speaking about the recent comments made by the former Hindu editor about the weekend edition, Ram added, “I think The Hindu is doing fine. We are still in the process of transition and we had a couple of difficult years earlier in a business sense, now we are doing very well. We have a brilliant Managing Director and CEO-- Rajiv Lochan, who has turned around the company very well.”

It must be mentioned that Suresh Nambath, National Editor of the Chennai-based daily, has been appointed interim head of all editorial operations till the search for new editor is finalised.
