MTNL ties up with Shemaroo for exclusive content

MTNL (Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd) has tied up with Shemaroo Entertainement Ltd to launch its 2G and 3G (Video IVR, WAP and IVR) value added services across Delhi and Mumbai. The services for MTNL customers were launched on August 23, 2011 in Delhi. Shemaroo will not only be actively involved in packaging the content, but will also manage the same on MTNL via its own 3G video delivery platform.

Live feeds from major shrines
MTNL users will be able to view live telecast from all major shrines of India like Shirdi Sai Dham, Kashi Vishwanath, Shani Shinegnapur, Ashtavinayak, Gurudwara PatnaSaheb, Haji Ali Darga, among others, through a service called Divine Prayers. The service will broadcast live feeds from shrines. In addition to that, live darshan, devotional video songs, mandir darshan and bhakti videos form the part of the service as well. MTNL will charge Rs2 per minute for this service.

Mini Movies on phone
MTNL users will now be able to watch their favourite Bollywood movies on Movie Talkies service. It is designed for the gen-next consumers to enjoy Mini Movies, which are 15-minute version of a movie, edited smartly and packaged with popular songs, important scenes, and dialogues along with a narrator. The collection of movies covers different genres and languages.

Shemaroo also launched its universal shortcode ‘58800’ to provide both voice and video services to MTNL mobile users. Above mentioned Divine Prayers and Movie Talkies services can be accessed by making a video call on this universal shortcode – 58800.

Shemaroo also launched its Wapsite http:/ Vast range of content can be downloaded from it. Video downloading standard price is Rs15 on WAP. The price of individual video will be based on its type and may vary from one video to another.
