Mid Day anniversary editions hit newsstands in Delhi & Pune today

Tabloid daily newspaper Mid Day is celebrating its fourth anniversary with a special edition in Delhi on August 12, 2011. Meanwhile, the Pune edition of the newspaper has also turned three and has come out with special city edition on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Gujarati Mid Day will be launching its Sunday edition from August 14, 2011 in Mumbai. So far, the paper has been available from Monday to Saturday.

Speaking to exchange4media, Narendra Tripathi, Publisher, Mid Day, Delhi, said, “It has been a fantastic journey for Mid Day in Delhi. There actually has been no competition for Mid Day as we work on a different mindspace. The advertisers need to understand the kind of innovation that can be done in a tabloid is just not possible in a broadsheet. The future looks very bright and with Jagran’s might behind us, we see ourselves going higher and higher.”

This anniversary issue of Delhi Mid Day is the celebration of the spirit of Delhi. “We did conceptualise the anniversary edition in such a way that the issue becomes a collectors’ item and people do not treat this as a dated issue. The advertisers have seen a huge benefit in it,” claimed Tripathi.

The Delhi anniversary edition of newspaper has Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit, Shah Rukh Khan, Raghu Rai, Jiggs Kalra sharing their bond with the city.

Meanwhile, Pune edition of the newspaper is also celebrating it fourth anniversary with a special Pune edition. Parvesh Naini, Publisher, Pune, said, “The anniversary edition is about exploring Pune from angles that make uncommon sense. Revelations are quite eye-opener for all who love Pune.”

Speaking on the performance of the tabloid, he said, “We have grown in leaps and bounds in the city. Within short span of three years, we not only are hottest tabloid in Pune, but are also well set to mark our balance sheet in green.”

It may be noted here that Pune Mid Day launched ‘Hot Property’ and Mid Day CQ (Career Quotient) in the last couple of months. “These are well received in the market. We have big plans to enrich our readers in these two segments with knowledge and wisdom,” Naini further said.
