Malini Parthasarathy resigns as Editor of The Hindu

Malini Parthasarathy has tendered her resignation to The Hindu board less than an year since taking over the editorial rein from N Ravi in February 2015. According to media reports the resignation has been accepted by the board with immediate effect.

Parthasarathy also confirmed the news via a tweet sent earlier.

She was The Hindu’s first woman Editor. The News Minute reports that the reason for the resignation were differences in opinion regarding the recent launch of the Mumbai edition of The Hindu. Suresh Nambath, National Editor of The Hindu, is expected to take over responsibilities on an interim basis.
