Kerala Tourism wins the Outlook Traveller - TAAI Award For Excellence

Outlook Traveller and the Travel Agents Association of India have chosen Kerala as the best State that promoted tourism in the country in the year 2001. Instituted this year, Kerala is the first State to receive this award.

The Chief Minister of Kerala, A K Antony has been invited to receive the award at the Golden Jubilee Function of the Travel Agents Association of India that is being organized at the Renaissance Convention Center in Powai, Mumbai on the 23rd of September 2001.

Kerala was handpicked for this award by a jury comprising Mr. Vinod Mehta, editor-in-chief of the Outlook Group, Mr. Inder Sharma, Chairman Emeritus, Sita World Travel, Mr. P C Sen, Former CMD, Air India & Indian Airlines and Mr. Suhel Seth, CEO, Equs advertising.

The Outlook Traveller-TAAI award is yet another feather in the cap of Kerala. The State won the best performing award (1999& 2000) for excellence in Tourism, Govt. of India, for rapid growth, development and achievement in the tourism sector.

Earlier the National Geographic Traveller (NGT) had chosen the State as 'one of the ten paradises of the world' while the Travel and Leisure Magazine described a trip to the State as 'One of the 100 greatest trips of the 21st century'.

The latest addition to this list of acclaims is the 'State of Enlightenment' status accorded to it by the National Geographic Traveller in its April issue.
