Jyotsna Darda of Lokmat Media passes away

Jyotsna Darda, Director of Lokmat Media and wife of MP Vijay Darda passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013.

Darda was struggling from cancer from the past few years. Her last rites were performed in Yamatmal, the native place of the Darda family.

Darda was also the Chairman of ‘Lokmat Sakhi Manch’, a forum for women, started under the aegis of the newspaper group. The forum worked very hard towards upliftment of women in remote areas of Maharashtra and Goa. Today, Sakhi Manch has more than 100 centers in the two states.
