The much anticipated findings of IRS 2014 have been released and among the English publications, TOI has gained the top spot.
IRS 2014: Nine out of top ten publications gain readership
Data suggests TOI has managed to add 3,36,000 lakh readers while Hindustan Times registered a growth of 1,80,000 lakh readers in 2014.
TOI is still sitting at the number one position with maximum AIR of 7,590,000 this year in comparison to 7,254, 000 in 2013.
HT remains at the number second position with AIR of 4,515,000 this year compared to 4,335,000 in 2013. The national daily registered a growth of 1, 80,000 lakh readers in 2014.
The Hindu, placed in the third spot, has gained 1, 49,000 readers.
The other dailies that have seen growth this quarter are The Telegraph, Deccan Chronicle, Mumbai Mirror, Mid Day, Economic Times and The Tribune. The Telegraph has registered an AIR of 6, 6,000 in 2014, while Mumbai Mirror has recorded an AIR of 11, 1,000. Economic Times has added 1, 12,000 readers and reached sixth position among top ten English dailies.
The English tabloid Mid Day remains at number seventh position by adding 7, 3,000 readers this year in the Indian Readership Survey. The Tribune registered eighth position in the list and ads 5, 4,000 readers this year.
On the other hand, Deccan Herald has seen a drop in the latest findings. But the daily manages to remain at number ninth position. The paper has lost a marginal number of 1, 6,000 readers this year.
Deccan Chronicle is sitting at number ten position with a growth of 24000 readers to its kitty this year.
