INS likely to meet MRUC on Feb 3 to discuss latest IRS data

Hectic parleys are on in the print media industry following the release of the latest Indian Readership Survey data. Most print publishers have flayed the data, while pointing out several anomalies in the findings.

It is now learnt that the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) is likely to meet the Media Research Users Council (MRUC) on Monday, February 3, 2014 to discuss the IRS findings and decide on further course of action.

A few print players have indicated to exchange4media that the meeting will take on Monday.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the MRUC has been given time till 4.30 pm on February 3 to withdraw the latest IRS data and refund the publishers’ money.

As is known, as many as 18 publishers have jointly issued a statement asking RSCI and MRUC, the conductors of the Indian Readership Survey, “to withdraw the results of IRS Q4 2013 immediately as well as put a stop to all future editions of this survey”.
