Magazine publishers and print media honchos are congregating in Mumbai on September 6, 2010 for the Indian Magazine Congress (IMC) 2010. The yearly summit is organised by the Association of Indian Magazine (AIM). This is the sixth edition of the IMC. Every year, the magazine fraternity, along with advertising agencies and media agencies, come together to ponder over the various ways in which the magazine industry can be revitalised and publishers’ interests are protected.
The Congress will start with a welcome address followed by a keynote address. Thereafter, there will be a special address by International Federation of the Periodical Press (FIPP) Chairman Aroon Purie. The next session will be a keynote on ‘How magazine titles can successfully become global’, followed by a presentation by Ernst & Young on ‘The State of the Indian Magazine Industry’.
This will be followed by four panel discussions on various topics associated with the magazine industry. The panel members include some of the most eminent and prominent figures of the industry. The magazine industry is awaiting the commencement of the Congress with much excitement, and is hoping that the deliberations and discussions trigger a positive trend for magazines, which have faced a tough slope in the IRS Q2 2010 results.
