The Indian Magazine Congress (IMC) returns with its eighth edition. Organised by the Association of Indian Magazines (AIM), this annual summit brings together magazine publishers and print media honchos on one platform. Every year, the magazine fraternity, along with advertising agencies and media agencies, come together to ponder over the various ways in which the magazine industry can be revitalised and publishers’ interests are protected.
IMC 2014 is being held in New Delhi on February 24 and 25.
Print players are expecting a lot from this platform, which brings together several national and international speakers.
Sharing about expectations from IMC 2014, Anant Nath, Director, Delhi Press, said, “The IMC creates a good platform for the magazine industry. There are high expectations and it will create an environment of good learning and innovation. This conference will bring not only Indian but international leaders and share their thought process on different challenges and opportunities.”
He also suggested, “This Congress will solve many issues such as how do address various facet of business innovation. We also need to discuss about the distribution challenge that is one of the biggest issue.”
Sharing about his expectations, Hoshang Billimoria, CEO, Next Gen Publishing said, “Expect an opportunity to network and discuss issues of common concern.”
Minister of Information and Broadcasting Manish Tewari will deliver the inaugural address. This will be followed by keynote address by Anand Kripalu, CEO, Diageo.
Day one of the Congress will see discussions on a wide range of topics, including pressures to produce quality content, targeting communities, how magazine brands can use social media, and magazines & ROI. Chris Llewellyn, President & CEO, FIPP and Sam Balsara, Chairman and Managing Director, Madison World will also deliver keynote addresses.
The range of discussions will continue on day two as well, with Rajan Anandan, Vice President and Managing Director, Google India delivering the opening keynote address. The topics that will be taken up for discussion include, Metros and Beyond- The Power of Regional Magazines, Licensing in a multi-platform world, Making money through digital, Building a powerful content brand, the changing face of media buying, and Tablets: Key to Success. The Congress will conclude with Power CEO Session.
