Indian Companies shine at Ifra’s Asia Media Awards held at Publish Asia

For the fifth year running, Ifra’s Asia Media Awards have duly acknowledged the excellence among individuals and organizations that have embraced new technology, innovative thinking and creativity.

On the ongoing Publish Asia 2006 the underlying sentiment has been that Publishers who understand and embrace the changes around them will ultimately connect with their audience, gain market share, and increase their advertising revenue and profits.

ABP won a gold for Asia Newspaper Color Quality Award for the Telegraph in the category weekday circulation of 100000. The silver was won by The Shizuoka Shimbun of Japan.

India Today won the gold in the Magazine Design category with Circulation over 50,000 Copies. Sapna Kapoor, Art Director, India Today received the trophy on behalf of India Today group. The silver in this category went to SPH’s magazine Herworld. India Today also won silver in Best in Magazine Info graphics with a circulation of over 50,000 copies. Nilanjan Das, Senior Art Director received this award on behalf of India Today group, India Today had won a gold in this category last year and silver in the year before that. The gold in this category this year went to Time magazine for their 2nd May 2005 issue.

Rajasthan Patrika won Gold in the category of News Photography for Azia Bhutia’s Storm photograph. Gulab Kothari of Rajasthan Patrika accepted this award at the ceremony.
