Images Group adds ‘Shoes & Accessories’ magazine to its bouquet

Images Group has recently launched ‘Shoes & Accessories’, a magazine devoted exclusively to the footwear and accessories business. The monthly magazine is priced at Rs 100 and is targeting a circulation of 25,000 copies per month. Amitabh Taneja is the Editor-in-Chief, while Annou Iyer is the Executive Editor.

The magazine is a joint venture between Amitabh Taneja and Amit Chopra, CEO and Co-Publisher, Images Access Multimedia.

Commenting on the content of the magazine, Chopra, said, “Images Shoes & Accessories magazine aims to play an important role in shaping this dynamic market through its in-depth trend forecasting, news, reportage, research, industry thoughts and be an indispensable publication on the evolving footwear and accessory industry.”

Commenting on the TG for the magazine, Chopra said, “We would be reaching out to retailers, manufacturers, fashion brand owners, marketers, store mangers, distributors, agents, fashion conscious consumers, fashion institutions, exporters, buying houses, buying agents, suppliers and service providers to the fashion makers and retailers. The magazine would be available pan India as many footwear manufacturing and retailing clusters as based in non-metros.”

Talking of the circulation numbers, Chopra said, “We will strategically work with industry groups to promote Images Shoes & Accessories within the fashion arena and ultimately enhance the consumer knowledge and experience in this specialised category. We are looking at a circulation of 25,000 copies per month.”

The magazine has no direct competitors except International Footwear Magazines. It claims its USP to be a niche footwear/ leather magazine for professionals, brands, fashion conscious consumers and industry related people.

On the marketing plans, Chopra said, “We would be reaching out to our potential patrons directly. We would be advertising through our in-house publications, Portals & Events, and time to time through other business related magazines (that is leather or footwear and accessories magazines).”

Taneja has been in the publishing, online media services and related businesses for the past 20 years. A well-known editor on business and management issues, he has been the guiding force behind Images Business of Fashion, Images Retail, FNL, M, Sportwear India, Salon, and Progressive Grocer – all of them claimed to be leaders in their segments.

Chopra has been associated with the leather, footwear and accessories industry for the past 20 years. He was heading the Footwear & Accessories sourcing office in India and has a hands-on experience on the subject. He has worked with leading organizations such as BILT, Mesco and Groupe Vivarte with brands like Andre, Kookai, San Marina, Lahalle!, Mercalzados, Nafnaf, Minelli, Chaussland, Accessorie Diffusion and Fosco, among others.
