IDG launches ‘Channel World’ in India

IDG launches ‘Channel World’ in India

International Data Group has launched another magazine for the Indian market. Titled ‘Channel World’, the weekly magazine is targetted at the IT channel community that includes system integrators, VARs, distributors and resellers.

Distributed on a free-to-reader subscription basis to over 12,000 IT qualified channel players in 325 cities in India, ‘Channel World’ will provide comprehensive coverage of technology, business and market trends, in addition to covering people, companies and happenings in the channel space. The launch of the magazine makes India the 35th market in which IDG publishes a channel-related publication, following countries such as Australia, Belgium, China, Germany and France.

Rahul Neelmani, Editor, Channel World, said, “As a national weekly, it is imperative that Channel World covers all important domestic and international markets. We have already established editorial bureaux in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, and backed by IDG’s network of 2,000 journalists spread across the globe, Channel World is best equipped to report news from every corner of the country across the world.”

The magazine will publish a quarterly update every week from 12 leading IT companies like AMD, Canon, Cisco, HP, IBM, Intel, LG, Microsoft, Oracle, Samsung, Seagate and Sun Microsystems. Titled ‘Hotline’, this initiative will keep the channels updated about the business strategies of these companies. Fifteen major IT channel associations from across India have also volunteered to support ‘Channel World’ by working closely with its editorial team to provide on-ground market updates and information.

Sharing his thoughts on the magazine, N Bringi Dev, India President, IDG, said, “Given the rapid pace of change in the IT marketplace, Channel World, the first weekly in its genre, will provide timely, concise and focussed information vital to the businesses of resellers, value-added resellers and system integrators.”
