Media veteran Sunil Mutreja has joined Hindi daily Hindustan as Media, Marketing and Strategy Head. Prior to this, Mutreja was with Amar Ujala as Executive President; he had quit the organisation in May this year.
Mutreja will report to Vivek Khanna, CEO, Hindustan. He officially joined the group on August 27, 2013 and has confirmed the news to exchange4media.
Mutreja had joined Amar Ujala in 2007. He was responsible for major expansion programmes at the publishing group, including the launch of tabloid ‘Compact’ and ‘Yuvan’, a weekly for youth.
Prior to joining Amar Ujala, Mutreja was CEO of the Advertising International Corporation, Y&R in Oman.
He began his career in media with The Times of India in 1989. He also had a brief stint with Dainik Bhaskar, where he headed the Rajasthan circle for 18 months, starting early 2005.
Mutreja had also run Channel Nine, a film production company which made several television commercials, television programmes and feature films, including ‘American Desi’.
