Have you read IMPACT’s 8th anniversary issue yet?

For a while now, we at IMPACT have been asked this question wherever we go: “Is the anniversary issue out?” We can finally say, yes, the much-awaited 8th anniversary issue of IMPACT is now on the stands and can be read online too.

Like last year, we took to crowdsourcing for the anniversary issue cover, and we couldn’t have got it more right than our cover creative with the tagline ‘Tum Bolenga, Waisa’ which showcases our theme ‘Age of personalisation’ perfectly.

Everyone likes their tea made in a particular way – ‘cheeni kum’ or ‘adrak wali’ – and our cover this year truly encapsulates what our issue is all about, getting personal with the head honchos of the industry. Kudos to Pankaj Mishra, Senior Art Director with DDB Mudra, for coming up with the cover image!

In the course of putting together the issue, we got an opportunity to know the people behind the designations and just what it is that makes industry leaders tick. Each story is an eye-opener, a slice of life and a revelation about the person.

While Madison’s Sam Balsara and R Balki of Lowe Lintas spoke about their beginnings, Ashish Bhasin of Aegis Media and Mindshare’s Ravi Rao shared their future dreams and where they see themselves 10 years from now. In contrast, Arvind Sharma of Leo Burnett said he believes in enjoying life at any given moment, as there is no answer to ‘What next’. Madhukar Kamath of DDB Mudra and KV Sridhar (Pops) of Leo Burnett shared their ‘eureka moments’ with us, while Josy Paul of BBDO India spoke about the power of sharing.

A couple of stories which moved all of us at IMPACT were narrated by Star India’s Uday Shankar and Arnab Goswami of Times Now. Both these stories showed us the bond which viewers have now formed with their favourite media channels and got us to reflect about the power that media today has on the lives of the ‘aam-aadmi’.
