Financial Express to launch its 10th edition from Pune from today

Expanding its reach, Financial Express is launching its 10th edition from Pune on August 1, 2006. The new edition will cover not just Pune city, but areas such as Baramati, Satara, Sangli, Kohlapur, Sholapur, and Aurangabad.

This is the third launch by Financial Express in a span of two months. On June 1, 2006, the business daily had launched its English edition in Ahmedabad as well as started printing in Chandigarh to make the paper available at in cities in and around Chandigarh.

This is in keeping pace with the growing readership of Financial Express. As per IRS R1 2006, Financial Express has had the highest growth in readership among all business dailies.

Commenting on the venture, Sandipan Deb, Editor, Financial Express, said, “Pune, in many ways, exemplifies the story of India’s rapid economic growth and integration into the global economy. It is modern and cosmopolitan, with a global outlook, yet retains all that is the best of traditional Maharashtrian and Indian culture. It was obvious to us that Financial Express had to be in Pune, and participate in and engage intelligently with the city and the citizens of Pune and its hinterland.”

Team Express is all excited about the new edition. “Financial Express will help showcase a perfect symbiosis of nations successful entrepreneurs in Pune with the burgeoning IT and other specialised areas of growth. Pune, as a new economy hub, will benefit from the daily’s rich editorial content and focus on the city’s strength of automobile, engineering, investment and management sectors,” said Sukhmeet Channey, Branch Head, Pune.

The edition will have two sections. The main section will have national and international business news, economic news, edit and opinion pages, along with the state pages for news from the region. The second section, called ‘Corporates & Markets’, will have the company news, market news and analysis and stock listings.

The Financial Express will use a multimedia campaign, including press and outdoors, to promote the Pune edition.
