DNA augments revenue function; hires head of sales

DNA, the English daily from Zee Group, is strengthening the core functions of the company and has in the process made key appointments in its revenue function.

DNA has appointed Varun Kohli to head its sales. Kohli assumes his new role on September 4, 2012. This assignment will see him shift base to Mumbai from Delhi. Joining his team also is Rakesh Gopal to head the sales function for the Mumbai Edition. With this development, Jitesh Rajdeo will go back to the Zee Entertainment Enterprises side of the business.

Both Kohli and Gopal come from Mogae Media.

Kohli had joined Mogae as Chief Monetising Officer on March 19, 2012. Before that, he was Associate Publisher for Mail Today for a year and a half. He brings experience of over 18 years to the table. He had begun his career in 1994 with Indian Express and has worked significantly in the print industry with brands such as Amar Ujala, Hindustan and Dainik Bhaskar. Kohli is a management graduate from SIMS, Ghaziabad.
 

Gopal, who too was with Mail Today as Head-Impact for Delhi, East and South India for over three and a half years before joining Mogae Media as Senior Vice President, brings two decades of experience in media sales. He has worked with The Pioneer, DNA and Hindustan Times as Manager Accounts (Media Marketing). He is a graduate in commerce from Delhi University, with an MBA degree.

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
