Dainik Bhaskar felicitated at Asian Publishing Management Awards

Dainik Bhaskar has won the Asian Publishing Management Awards for its Punjab launch, in the ‘Launch of Best Local Title’ category. It has also won a merit award for its circulation success in Punjab. The awards were presented at a gala ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dainik Bhaskar’s Managing Editor Jagdish Sharma, and GM-Circulation Anil Singh received the awards.

Asian Publishing Management Awards are held every year and are aimed at recognising the best publishing activities in Asia and bring to fore trends in print, online and mobile media.

“It’s an honour to receive the award on behalf of the Dainik Bhaskar Punjab team. Moreover, the Asian Publishing Management Awards are a testimony to our claim of being number one in Punjab, in spite of the fact that we are not even a year old,” said Sharma.

According to Singh, it was a challenge to enter into a market with two established players, and that they went ahead with an innovative and planned approach to show the expected results.

The group is also planning to launch its Ludhiana edition soon, and with this they are planning to cover most of Punjab. At present, the newspaper is selling 210,000 copies in Jalandhar and Amritsar; and with the Ludhiana launch the newspaper will cater to an additional population of 18 lakh.
