Following a the launch of Dainik Bhaskar in Patna, DB Corp has announced the elevations of Raja Mitra and Dharmendra Atri to National Sales Head as part of its new corporate sales and marketing strategy.
The announcement comes in the wake of the state wise structuring of the company’s Corporate Sales & Marketing (CS&M) division that started almost a year ago. The continued objective is to ensure that the company is able to provide strong merit-based focus to advertisers for states covered as part of Dainik Bhaskar Group’s overall market. Going forward, the business will be further strengthened into a full state-focused model with segments that will focus on zones and industry vertical specialists to ensure delivery of premium advertising value and reach at the right price.
To implement this shift in strategy, the company has promoted Raja Mitra as National Sales Head for Dainik Bhaskar Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (MPCG), Bihar and Jharkhand markets. Mitra has over 21 years of professional experience across various industries in the areas of Sales & Marketing Management, Operations and General management. His industry domain spans from Engineering, B2B, IP-Telco, Telecom and Media across a wide gamut of brands. He has been in the media industry for the last nine years, having joined the ABP Group in 2005 and then shifting to DB Corp in Bangalore. Subsequently, he was relocated to Mumbai in the year 2013.
Dharmendra Atri who will assume the position of National Sales Head for Dainik Bhaskar Rajasthan and Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh (CPH2) markets. Atri embarked on his journey with DB Group in 1998. In the span of last 16 years, he has shouldered the responsibility of Advertising Sales at different locations of DB Group. He has been part of leading Project Teams that were instrumental in launching Dainik Bhaskar in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana. Currently, he is looking after Corporate Sales & Marketing Head - North Region. Prior to joining DB Group, he was associated with Parle Products, Cadbury’s and Indian Express.
The company will also be making similar appointments for its Divya Bhaskar Gujarat and Divya Marathi Maharashtra brands very soon.

Dwivedi further said, “The successful run of our DB Connect - FMCG vertical in the last two years has further strengthened our belief in verticalisation. We are therefore keen to drive an agenda of verticalisation in a few key categories as we have observed that this approach has been delivering good results. To start with, we will set up a few independent verticals, viz. Lifestyle and Auto, which will encompass the geographies of North, West and South regions in the country, apart from Government & PSU, and FMCG, which are already in place.”
The internal teams have been aligned as per the new structure with immediate effect.
