CyberMedia Q1 YoY net up 47% at Rs 7.40 million

CyberMedia has recorded 47 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit before non recurring income in the first quarter this year. Net profit (including non recurring income) is up by 103 per cent at Rs 10.25 million.

CyberMedia’s gross income is up by 28 per cent year-on-year at Rs 151.64 million, as compared to Rs 118.38 million in the first quarter of 2004-05.

While revenue from publishing business is up by 42 per cent YoY at Rs 103.25 million, revenue from research business is up by 51 per cent YoY at Rs 26.70 million. Revenue from the online business is up by 83 per cent YoY at Rs 10.06 million.

On the results, Pradeep Gupta, MD, Cybermedia Group, said, “Our strategy of focusing on high growth, high margin businesses has started giving positive results with operating margins improving to 13 per cent. Also, the last quarter has seen us successfully commence our ‘Content BPO’ operations with initial manpower strength of around 90 professionals.”

CyberMedia commenced the commercial operations of its new ‘Content BPO’ business under the brand name ‘Cyber Media Services’ from June 1, 2005. The company is in the process of finalising an alliance with a US publishing company for the distribution of a new publication for the BPO sector Global Outsourcing.
