CXO forum follows Smart Inc. launch

Smart Inc, the recently launched business and technology magazine by the India Today group, launched the CXO forum in Delhi to discuss practical issues related to usage and implementation of technology in the Indian business environment.

An eminent panel of speakers drawn from various fields related to IT shared their experiences and perspective on how technology today is changing the landscape of corporate India.

T R Balasubramanian, VP (IS), Hero Honda, Shekhar Das Gupta - Country Manager, Oracle India and Dr. Sridharan - Country Manager, IBM spoke about the various business facets related to IT systems, their usage, implementation in the Indian business environment.

Speaking on the occasion of CXO Forum, Ashish Bagga, ED, Business Group, India Today said "The first issue of Smart Inc and the CXO forum are significant events as they usher India's first business and technology magazine."

"The magazine has been positioned to fill the gap of providing practically usable technology related information needs of business leaders. The current set of IT magazines caters to readers within the industry whereas Smart Inc. targets manager who want to know what technology can do for them." Adds Bagga.

Sharing his experience with the audience Dr. Sridharan - Country Manager, IBM, emphasized on the need of measuring the ROI on IT and also on including IT systems within the larger business plans of the corporate to reap its complete benefits.

T R Balasubramaniam, VP (IS), Hero Honda on the other hand highlighted on the fact that "ROI is not essential as far as deployment of IT goes, its an essential tool today like a phone or a fax."

The magazine boasts Hari Menon as its Executive Editor, and a team of editorial consultants comprising Sanjoy Narayan, Editor- Business Today, R.Sukumar, Deputy Editor-Business Today and Samar Harlankar, Special Senior Editor.

With the backing of the Living Media Group and its numerous successful media brands, and being spearheaded by the Business Group, the industry is eagerly watching the performance of this venture.
