Star TV owned music channel is putting its might behind veejay Gaurav to transform him into as much a marketable proposition as MTV’s Cyrus Broacha. Another revenue stream, which the channel is considering, is extending its brand to merchandise. Channel V is also looking at acquiring a more aggressive strategy for ‘vindia.com’.
Also on the cards is a revamp of the programming mix. This is not the first time Channel V has talked of revamping its look. Roughly a year back, Channel V had wanted to position itself on the ‘youth’ platform but met with lukewarm response as per the TRP charts.
