Brand management reshuffle at Telegraph, Businessworld, Ananda Bazaar Patrika

The Kolkata-headquartered ABP Group is effecting a reshuffle in its top brand management. Sandip Ghose, Vice-president, who was looking after the brand functions of The Telegraph and Businessworld, is leaving the organization at the end of the year. Ghose moved to ABP Group about two years ago from Levers, where he was Managing Director, Lever Nepal.

Amitabha Dutta, currently VP, Ananda Bazaar Patrika, will take over as VP, The Telegraph, after Ghose moves out. Chandan Mazumdar, General Manager, Finance, will look after Ananda Bazaar Patrika’s brand functions.

V. Natarajan, who joined ABP Group recently as General Manager, based in Delhi, will be heading Businessworld’s brand functions.

When contacted by exchange4media, Aniruddha Lahiri, Managing Director, ABP Ltd., said that these changes had “already been communicated internally in the organization”. He added that Ghose’s decision to leave “is not sudden. He had wanted to move out at a time convenient to the organization”.

When asked why a finance person was selected for ABP’s brand function, Lahiri said, “Many functional managers make excellent brand managers. I have always believed that development of individuals takes place by moving up the silo.”
