The Association of Indian Magazines (AIM), which was formed in February 2003 to promote the magazine industry in India, has forayed into the Internet space with the launch of its new website – www.aim.org.in.
“The website will act as a common platform for all stakeholders. Awareness around the website would be done through direct response advertising as well as by holding active engagement programmes,” said Ashish Bagga, CEO, India Today Group, and President of AIM.
AIM, which supports and defends freedom of the press and promotes the cause of magazines, originally began with eight members. It now represents 32 magazine publishers with over 110 publications. The body provides a forum for Indian magazine publishers to represent the interests of magazines and periodicals with consumers, advertisers, advertising agencies, government and research organisations.
AIM also organises magazine conferences and seminars to promote the cause for magazines as well as create opportunities for networking between Indian and international magazine professionals. The Association had organised the Indian Magazine Summit last year, and this year it is organising the Indian Magazine Congress – a joint initiative by AIM and INS – towards the end of October.
Though the Association has been into existence for the past three years, but there has to be awareness around the website which has been launched recently. According to Bagga, awareness around the site would be done through direct response advertising and by holding active engagement programmes.
