Approach Communications, a marketing communication organisation, is planning to launch a fortnightly publication, ‘Gramin Today’, on November 25. ‘Gramin Today’ will be covering the rural sector in India and seeks to fill the gap between the available Hindi publications and the rural target audience. The magazine will be priced at Rs 10.
Approach Communications CEO, Sonu Tyagi, said, “We are quite excited about the launch. We are targeting the Hindi belt – mainly in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh – as well as Northern India. We would be launching in regional languages depending on the success of the initial launch. We are targeting an initial print run of 5,000 copies.”
He further said, “We are targeting mainly educated youth in villages. As part of our communication process, we aim to have one-to-one interactions with village pradhans. We will also be promoting in village schools and colleges. The reason we are launching this magazine is because villages want to connect with the world outside, they want to know what is happening with their own perspective.”
Tyagi added, “We have done a small research, which shows that educated youth in villages are hungry for information and are not satisfied with the publications currently available to them. We also have to keep in mind that the rural sector is quite organised.”
‘Gramin Today’ is expected to help improve the living standards of the readers by generating awareness and educating them.
