Close on the heels of hitting newsstands in Delhi and Mumbai on February 16, Business Standard Ltd has now announced the launch of its business daily in Hindi in Lucknow on February 20. The paper has been priced at Rs 2 and would be circulated six days a week.
S Arun Natesh, GM-Marketing, Business Standard, said, “The reason for launching in Lucknow is because robust growth has been witnessed in Tier I and II cities, where the market is expanding. Lucknow is a very important destination in the Hindi heartland. No marketer can afford to ignore this space. We believe there is unfilled demand in smaller towns, especially in terms of authentic sources of business information. Business Standard understands the Lucknow market after being present there for over two years.”
“We will be first ones to launch a Hindi business daily in Lucknow. We have an array of columnists, who have written for the English market. Same experts in professionalism would be offered in the Hindi market,” Natesh added.
He further said, “T N Ninan will be the Editor of Business Standard Lucknow as well. In keeping with the local market needs, there would be dedicated pages for local content, 30-35 per cent would be local content.”
Business Standard in Hindi would target small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, traders, and small investors, among others.
