The Advertising Club Bombay on Thursday kicked off its much-hyped India Advertising Festival, Synergy 2001, at the Nehru Centre Auditorium in Mumbai. Inaugurating the festival, Advertising Club (Bombay) president Mr. Kaushik Roy said that Synergy 2001 would bring together a mix of seminars, award functions, an exhibition and ad quiz. It is for the first time the Ad Club has invited professionals from the international advertising industry to be part of the jury.
As for the rationale behind organising Synergy 2001, Mr. Roy explained that the main objective of the festival is to showcase the best in Indian advertising to the universe. "Ten international jury members form a very important part of the target audience. Many of them are coming to India for the first time. We want them to go back to Cannes and Clio and talk about India positively," explained Mr. Roy.
