ABP Group MD, Aniruddha Lahiri, seeks apology from DNA

Aniruddha Lahiri, Managing Director, ABP Group, has sought an apology from DNA for publishing a report in their website on November 9 and in their newspaper on November 10, which says that he has been hired for a Bengali news channel to be launched by the Kolkata-based Xenitis Group.

Lahiri, who has steadfastly refused to divulge details of his next move, has taken strong exception to this report and has demanded an unconditional apology to be published both in the DNA newspaper and their website. Lahiri is also contemplating legal action, if necessary.

When contacted Lahiri said, “I was shocked and surprised to read the aforesaid article… This is totally incorrect, baseless, frivolous, and a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and intentionally malign me and question my integrity.” He also added that no representative from DNA had contacted him regarding this news before going to press.

Incidentally, this new channel from the Xenitis Group, has in fact already roped in Suman Chattopadhyay, Executive Producer of Star Ananda as Editor and well-known film personality and Editor of Sananda, Aparna Sen, as Creative Director.
