Hindi daily Aaj Samaj has been fortifying its presence in Haryana in recent days with back to back new edition launch. After launching its Kurukshetra and Bahadurgarh editions last week, the group launched its Bhiwani and Karnal editions on April 18, 2011. The newspaper is priced at Rs 3 across the state.
The Yamuna Nagar and Sonipath editions are slated for launch on April 22, while on April 27 Aaj Samaj will enter Rohtak.
Speaking to exchange4media, Rakesh Sharma, CEO, Aaj Samaj, said, “We will cover the entire state this year with presence in every district by the year-end.” He, however, declined to reveal the initial print run figures for the recently launched editions. All he would say was, “We have entered the market with competitive print run. We cannot reveal any numbers as ABC is yet to certify the numbers.”
When asked about the strategy of newspaper to attract advertisers, Sharma revealed, “Our strategy is content driven. Haryana is the most booming state and if a newspaper gets local eyeballs from readers, it also attracts local advertisers. We are targeting all sets of national and local advertisers, including real estate, lifestyle, retail, health and education industries, among others.”
Meanwhile, the paper has gone hyper-local in a big way in Haryana in recent months and plans to launch 11 editions.
