ZenithOptimedia India is turning its attention to its Mumbai operations. It has appointed a head for West and South India. Rabe T Iyer, currently GM of ZenithOptimedia Vietnam, is being relocated to run ZenithOptimedia Mumbai and will be responsible for developing ZenithOptimedia’s operations in West and South. He will join the agency on July 20, 2007, and will report to Ambika Srivastava, CEO, ZenithOptimedia India.
Srivastava said, “Rabe’s rich experience with the network, working with a blue chip client portfolio over the last four years, makes him an ideal candidate to build our operations both in Mumbai and the South.”
Philip Talbot, CEO-Asia Pacific, ZenithOptimedia Group, added, “Talent management is a key element in ZenithOptimedia’s ongoing success in the region. We aim to give all our key employees the opportunity and support so that they can realise their career expectations.”
He added, “Rabe is a great example of this. He has done a superb job for us in the four years he has been in Vietnam. In that time he has built the agency from the ground up to become one of the leading communication companies in Vietnam. Rabe is best suited to grow our Mumbai operation to match the success we have already had with our Delhi office.”
Iyer said, “Vietnam has given me the laboratory experience in building capability and evolving the service portfolio in a landscape where consumers are high- jumping traditional ways of interacting with brands. I see the opportunity to apply this know-how to a market with similar dynamics as Vietnam at this time but on a much larger scale.”
This appointment follows the recent launch of Zed Digital India, ZenthOptimedia’s full service interactive and digital unit. Zed Digital India is spearheaded by Vineet Mathur, Senior VP, who also reports to Ambika Srivastava.
