Zee News' Abhisar Sharma likely to join ABP News

Abhisar Sharma, a well-known journalist and news anchor with Zee News, has put in his papers after around eight months with the news channel. This was his second stint with the Zee Group. Sharma is likely to join ABP News.

Sharma, who has 17 years of experience in journalism, has earlier worked with Aaj Tak, where he was known for his programmes such as ‘Lal Masjid ka Safed Sach’ and ‘Aatank ka live video’, among others.

He began his career in journalism with News Track, a news and current affairs magazine in 1996. Later, he moved on to Zee News where he worked for about three years and reported on political issues. After quitting Zee News, Sharma went to London, where he worked as Producer with the BBC. He then moved to Delhi to join the BBC’s Delhi bureau for special programme coverage.

He then joined NDTV, where he reported on international affairs, before returning to Aaj Tak as Deputy Editor.

Sharma has also written a book titled ‘The Eye of the Predator’, based on the militant Baitullah Mehsud.
